Collins Aerospace Avionics Concepts, Practices, and Tools (CPT) organization is seeking a Specialist to deliver Front-Line support to mechanical CAD tool users at Collins Aerospace. The ideal candidate is one who understands hardware engineering design and development, has experience using mechanical CAD tools and direct support of software applications. This role is part of a team that serves internal customers through the delivery and maintenance of high-availability software solutions for hardware design.
The successful candidate will have many of the following skills/experience:
Familiarity with hardware design and development lifecycle
Basic MCAD tool user, including products from Siemens NX, SolidWorks
Experience with CAD software user support
Positive Attitude
Good communication and people skills.
Ability to listen and understand issues being brought forward
Responsibilities include:
Gather issue symptoms from users
Resolve basic user issues
Triage issues and elevate to higher support levels as needed
Interface with vendor application engineers to resolve issues
Monitor and provide tool usage trends to leadership
Assist with defining and maintaining tool roadmaps
Basic Qualifications
Familiarity with hardware design and development lifecycle
Experience with software application support
US Citizen/permanent resident
This position requires either:
- An AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 8 years of relevant experience is required OR
- A Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 2 years of relevant experience.
