Marble Creek Farmstead and Marble City Meats are one of the few enterprises in America where red meat and poultry are raised and processed under USDA inspection. We are poised for significant growth but need the right manager to run the meat processing operation. The owner operator currently runs the farm production, marketing, and logistics while managing the meat processing part-time. We currently run the operation at 25-50% capacity with good, strong leads but cannot grow the business without the operator dedicating his time to the meat processing operation or hiring a competent manager to run the growth. This position is located at our plant in Sylacauga, AL about an hour south of Birmingham, AL and 2 hours west of Atlanta, GA.

We are looking for someone with knowledge of running red meat operations to include pork slaughter and further processing. HACCP certification is required. Knowledge of HACCP processes, sampling, and USDA regulations is required. Experience with poultry slaughter and processing is preferred but not required as if you have the red meat experience, we can teach you.

We are a small plant. Until you have hired and trained sufficient labor, you may have to perform red meat slaughter operations and butchery. This is a role that requires the right person who likes processing when they are needed but is great with managing people. We have a skilled read meat butcher but she is only 1 person and has limited slaughter experience. We have a good core of 4-5 employees that work hard and care about this business but need to add more with the right experience. We have always been able to bring in good people but with a distracted owner-operator have not been able to properly manage and develop that talent.

Our hours of USDA inspection are Monday to Friday 6 am to 3 pm. We typically work 530-3:30 Monday to Friday.
