Job Summary

Leads the commercial avionics marketing team responsible for all strategic (upstream) and channel (downstream) marketing activities of flight deck solutions in the commercial airline segment worldwide.

Help inspire and transform an existing, high performing marketing team to achieve new benchmarks of strategic and tactical marketing prowess, while growing the value perception of marketing with internal stakeholders.


Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee strategic marketing functions for the business unit, including but not limited to:

    • Market requirements capture

    • Keeping pulse of relevant avionics trends

    • Competitive assessments at both product and strategic levels

    • Influencing product roadmap plans based on market needs

    • Market analysis for scoping segments and product value

  • Oversee successful implementation of downstream/go-to-market strategies and actions, including but not limited to:

    • Ensuring Go-To-Market plan creation and management

    • Utilization and quantification of market campaign KPI and ROI

    • Tradeshow and other event prioritization and scoping in alignment with product and business objectives

    • Product/Solution value proposition quantification and messaging

  • Manage annual capital and operating budgets for marketing activities supporting commercial airline avionics

  • Adopt and manage plans for conducting focus groups, surveys and other means of market data collection

  • Communicate marketing initiatives and outputs/findings to internal leadership and external stakeholders alike

  • Work with leadership peers, especially in marketing, sales, strategy, value stream management, and customer support, to ensure effective collaboration between the cross-functional teams, and define clear and delineated roles & responsibilities as appropriate.

  • Represent marketing at customer leadership engagements, industry events, and internal leadership meetings.


Basic Qualifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
  • 10 years of relevant work experience in the aviation industry

  • 3 years of experience leading teams of high caliber individual contributors in achieving defined goals

  • Ability to lead others through complex projects

  • Masterful communicator – written, verbal, and in presentation settings

  • Proven ability to facilitate strong team communication in a cross-function matrixed organization.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree

  • Passion for the airline industry, with knowledge of flight operations, aircraft types, flight deck technologies, and business models in the segment

  • Qualitative and quantitative market research experience
