The distribution specialist provides technical and support work for engineering and field operations projects. The work of the distribution specialist is normally limited to a few specific areas within MidAmerican Energy Company’s delivery system, such as cathodic protection, street lighting, pole attachments and small routine projects. In addition to providing fundamental technical knowledge and skills, the distribution specialist’s other major aspect of work is data collection, input, maintenance, record keeping and other assigned work.
Provides limited technical analysis, troubleshooting and solutions under the direction of an engineer or supervisor. (25%)

Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques.
Evaluate present practices and implement processes, concepts, training and tools to prevent, detect and correct human errors that may adversely impact the safe, reliable operation of the natural gas transmission and distribution system.
Associate’s degree in a related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically three years of progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate’s degree.)
Two years of related work experience.
Have analytical skills to recognize patterns in data, information or events to draw logical conclusions and make recommendations for action.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
