Goodwill of the Heartland is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) in the Cedar Rapids area. We offer a starting competitive wage of $12.24 to $13.57 and a generous benefit package for fulltime employees and paid time off for part-time team members. If you have a desire to help others overcome barriers to independence, you will find that being a part-time or full-time DSP will be a fulfilling challenge. The duties may vary from assisting clients with daily errands to helping them acclimate to an employment setting. No day is ever the same!
In addition to assisting clients in various activities, the DSP is responsible for adapting training strategies, monitoring and documenting services and submitting reports as needed.
The schedule may vary according to client needs and your availability. Full-time team members work primarily Monday – Friday with occasional weekends. A high school diploma and six months of relatable experience required. Candidates will need a Iowa driver’s license, maintain required auto insurance coverage, and must pass motor vehicle record screening, dependent adult/child abuse and criminal history background checks.
