The Business Analytics team is an application delivery team within the Engineering & IT organization that builds value through data management, data visualization and data science services. The team discovers previously hidden insights and enables a new generation of connected intelligence. The team’s innovation provides a competitive advantage, solves business problems and impacts how we run our business.
The Collins Aerospace, Engineering and Information Technology, Business Intelligence and Analytics team seeks Data Science Spring and/or Summer interns.
Applies expertise in data mining, quantitative analysis, and the presentation of data to discover previously hidden insights.
Supports forecasting, optimization, performance measurement and cost-reduction analysis.
Operates statistical analysis software for the management, analysis and visualization of data.
Supports Pr. Data Scientist with artificial intelligence work tasks.
- Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Has a background in computer science, mathematics or related technical field
Actively working towards formal education in analytics or data science
Demonstrated success applying machine learning to complex problems
Proficiency with relevant technologies and languages (e.g. R, Python, Java, .NET)
Has basic understanding of data governance, complex adaptive systems, and deep learning
Proven results-focused, quick-learning, detail-oriented, problem-solver comfortable in a fast-paced environment
